Scenario:

It's a beautifully summery day today. Marielle wants to take the VW Beetle out for a drive after it’s been sitting for a while. Temperature, humidity – perfect conditions for the engine to start immediately. Or not? Marielle is surprised that she needs so many failed attempts to start it before she can drive off the property. Right at the start of the clip, after she gets in, she takes off her red shoes. The pedals are so pleasantly warm, heated by the earlier sun rays streaming through the windows. Feet covered only by tights. Beautiful to look at. Alternately pumping the gas pedal, but sometimes keeping it pressed to the floor during the start attempts. Oh, what stubborn engine noises to hear now! 

A few more attempts. 

It wants to come to life! And yes, disgustingly, the engine starts. (At 5:04 in the clip). How nicely Marielle’s feet handle the three pedals...

She drives along the streets. Suddenly, the engine begins to stall. (At minute 7:48 of the clip). Marielle still begs: "Oh not here, little car. 

Right in the middle of the street!" Until minute 12:35 of the clip, Marielle tries to start the engine again. Her right foot on the gas pedal is dreamily beautiful, handled with gentle pumping. The engine makes hopeful sounds again, as if wanting to start. And then, finally, Marielle smiles with relief that she can continue driving the stubborn VW Beetle. It’s a great sight how both feet handle the clutch pedal, in harmony with the gas pedal, as the gears are shifted. Marielle is relieved that she has reached the driveway of the property and at least drives halfway up; after turning off the engine, she still smiles at you and says that she is now intentionally flooding the engine. Mariella shows powerful, fast pumping during the following, unsuccessful starting attempts. Only the monotonous sounds of the starter are audible. At minute 16:47 of the clip, Mariella smiles at the camera and says that she will now start the engine. She stops pumping the gas pedal. With the following start attempt, the engine seems like it’s about to start. The bubbling sounds increasingly hopeful. Yes! It started! 

Now she can drive up the last stretch of the driveway to the house. She turns off the engine, gets out, and slams the driver's door.
